Repertory 1

Time to start a new theme! Most of the records today will be by The Kid Stuff Repertory Company, an almost certainly non-existant group used by the Kid Stuff label to release a series of albums for a few years in the late Seventies. I don't know anything much about the label, but the address on the record labels is here in Florida, so perhaps they were a local thing. They aren't as common as some of the other kiddie-oriented labels, but then they weren't around as long as some of those other organizations. I'll start with one of the music-oriented ones (you'll see later that some of them are album-length stories). Give it a listen and you notice the jumble of styles and quality that make it clear they weren't creating all this music under their own direction. Wherever this music came from, they almost certainly weren't making it themselves. To kick off the day, this is The Kid Stuff Repertory Company-Merry Christmas (Kid Stuff SP 2, Stereo, 1977). Enjoy!

  1. This is a weird collection. Old choir stuff and weird synth accompaniment on some...

    1. Yeah, it's a real mish-mash of stuff. I suspect if you took all of them (and I don't have all of them...yet), you could put together one LP in each style. One or two of them might actually be good. :)
