The Next Week Of March

The calendar page this week is a gorge in Brecksville, Ohio. That's Tinker Creek you see running through the rocks and under that stone bridge in the background. I believe it's Route 82 that runs over top of the bridge. Oddly enough, I'm actually headed to Ohio tomorrow morning, but I doubt if I'll have any time to get out and take pictures. But you never know.

Update: I was mistaken. It's not Tinker Creek that flows throught this gorge, it's Chippewa Creek. It flows all through the Brecksville reservation, eventually reaching the Cuyahoga River. Sorry about that screw-up. I guess I did get some use out of my recent trip to Ohio after all.

The First Few Days Of March

Here's the calendar page for the few days of this week that happen to fall in March. The rather localized storm you see above occurred over Sarasota, Florida, on either July 3rd or 4th of last year. I don't remember exactly what day they had their fireworks display, but I do remember that as being the reason I was on City Island waiting for the sun to set. This storm moved in an almost straight line from where it formed, just behind the downtown area in the picture, over the downtown, then straight at me. I had to spend 10-15 minutes in the car about 10 minutes after this shot was taken in an attempt to stay dry. It was pretty fast moving, and was long gone by the time the fireworks finally started.

The First Three Days In June

Once again, I forgot to post a picture yesterday on the first day of the month. So here I am trying to make up for it. This is the calendar page for the three days of this week that happen to fall in June. I spotted these deer running across a golf course in Ohio, and barely had time to squeeze off a shot before they were gone. Look closely and you can see the person on the lawnmower keeping a wary eye on these animals.
