2022 At 78 RPM-Week 6

Hello!  It's a new month, and I've got something a little special for you in honor of my having made it this far. This week I've got two records featuring special artist introductions to new songs from the late forties! I've shared some intros like these with you from other, later decades, but never anything this early. I was pretty excited when these records popped up at The Internet Archive since they so rarely show up in real life, and when they do, they command some big bucks. They're very short, so you're not getting a lot of listening time out of them, but the enjoyment it great! The record above features introductions to Spike Jones' newest Christmas song from all the members of his band, each one doing a short skit, and then there's a full band version. This was a banded record, and there was a little bit of a problem when they recorded the last band, so I had to edit the beginning a bit with a fade, so you miss the start, but I don't think you'd notice if I didn't tell you. The second record features intros to more new Christmas music for 1948 from Vaughn Monroe, Larry Green, Freddy Martin, Sammy Kaye and someone named Eddie Arnold. I'm sure they meant Eddy Arnold, but that's what it says. I'm sure you'll enjoy these as much as I did, and I'll be back next week with more actual music.

I'm a little pressed for time here, so the fridge door story is going to have to wait.
