Volume 12-Ten (Eleven!) Years On
Well, I figured I should go ahead and throw this up before I forget about it again. This is the very last installment in the For Hi-Fi Living series I first shared with you back in 2007, and started resharing sometime last year. Sorry it's taken so long to get finished with it, but there always seems to be something better to do. I hope it was worth the wait. The earlier installment by Malcolm Lockyer is one of the less-downloaded volumes, but I'm not sure why. This one is pretty similar to all the ones that have come before, except there are no interludes of any sort between songs. Still not sure what those were all about after all this time. Anyhow, I'm very happy to finally bring this series to a close once again, because that means I can share other stuff without feeling bad. After a great Christmas in July, I'm looking forward to turning my attention to a small stack of records that's built up that have nothing to do with Christmas. And then, of course, I need to get really serious about the Christmas music. But in the meantime, please download and enjoy Malcolm Lockyer And His Orchestra-We're Having A Party (RCA Custom RAL-1012, Mono, 1957).

Thanks, buddy - I just came across the Peter Barclay LP in this series today. Passed it by because I have your transfer. I bought a Wally Stott record. I think I already have two copies of it, but you gotta make sure, you know what I mean?
ReplyDeleteExcited to see that you plan other non-Christmas transfers!
Thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteoh man, volume 12! and here i’ve been going around for the past six months talking about an “ernie’s dozen” every time eleven of anything came up. looks like i’ve got some more ‘splainin to do.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ernie, for this whole series for the second time around.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ernie!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ernie. This was a nice thing to see!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ernie. Many of us really appreciate your shares, and this series has been a great one.
ReplyDeleteThank you thank you thank you ! I have been eagerly awaiting this last volume to complete the set!
ReplyDeleteWonderful to have them all now, I think my favorites are vol 1, 3 and this one #12.
ReplyDeleteI guess on the interlude stick it makes sense when you play an entire album at once with a nice transistion from one track to the next - in this day of just putting the player on shuffle it does not. anyway they should have done it with all in the series if for nothing else consistency
That said I (and I'm sure others)greatly appreciate the effort as always - thanks for an even dozen
Thank you for completing this set once again. Much appreciated!
ReplyDeleteA heartfelt thank you and congratulations on completing your second posting of these albums. I had the previous 12 and was waiting for the last re-master of the second group. If anybody cares, I seem to remember that the first group had cleaner back covers by far. I use them when I make a CD.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the Christmas in July and August. I was wondering if you might go into September this year. lol
Thanks so much! I'm looking forward to listening to this series.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all these.
ReplyDeleteI'm just sitting here listening to Camarata and waiting for Christmas.
Ernie, any chance you're going to re-up these one day? I stupidly never got them, and of course now I can't.
ReplyDeleteWhatever you choose, thanks for all your shares and care in restoring these amazing recordings.
Another vote to have you re-up this one. I missed it somehow. I still have the older version you released, but would love to replace it with this newer rip.
ReplyDeleteThanks!

ReplyDeleteA 2020 re-up. Enjoy!
Thanks SO much! The original shares set me on the path to find and collect music that reminds me of my childhood, and I'm beyod delighted to find them still available here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for these and for ALL your generous, hard work over the years!
James
Thanks for the comment!
DeleteNot sure how I ended up here (I'm talking about this far-flung, roundly-ridiculed corner of popular culture, not the site), but I'd like to extend my sincere thanks for your hard work and genrosity in sharing this quite lovely collection of music and cover art. Bliss.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, hope you enjoy it! :)
