Arc Reactor 5

Time for another remaster from the Arc label, and this is a good one. I remember being very excited about this one when I found a copy and shared it back in 2010. I don't think I knew at the time that this is the sort of oddball recording that the Arc label is known for, but I know now to keep an eye out for that name. I hope all the shares today have been a testament to the breadth and width of this odd label. Anyhow, for those who haven't experienced this share before, imagine yourself at an English pub on Christmas or New Year's and it might have sounded like this. Side one is Christmas and side two is New Year's Eve. Each side is a long track with sound effects and bar chatter mixed in with the songs. New this time around is an option to download the sides as a single track, as well as the sides cut into chunks based on the songs included. Either one is good, so you can't go wrong. This is Ken Stanley And The Pubsters-Christmas At The Red Lion And A Happy New Year Too... (Arc (Canada) AC-15, Stereo).

  1. Any Christmas record that starts with "Beer, Beer, Glorious Beer" can't be all bad.

  3. There are great snippets on this album for those who add Christmas interludes to their mixes.

    1. I think it's a lot of fun to just listen to the uncut sides, but you have to be in the right mood. :)

    1. I don't know how well the songs stand up on their own. It's a good sit and listen to the whole thing kinda record.
