Marc With A "C"
Ooh, this is a good one. I've enjoyed the songs from this one as they've come up randomly in the car this season, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it as well. A little folky, solo singer stuff, all very understated and well done. I believe these are all originals, too, which can be hit or miss, but I think this one is a hit. Download it and let me know what you think. This is Marc Haney-Let Us Go To Bethlehem-Ten Simple Love Songs (Bride No Number, Stereo, 1975). Enjoy!
1. Christmas Song
2. I Don't Know What To Do
3. Journey To Bethlehem
4. A Place To Stay
5. Shepherds' Song
6. Lullaby
7. Let Us Go To Bethlehem
8. Travelers' Song
9. On The Run
10. Maranatha!

Great find Ernie! A talented young man, with sounds ranging from Jim Croce, The Band among others, he gives a full retelling of the Christmas Story with original tunes.
ReplyDeleteBesides releasing a number of albums, looks like he also had the talent to teach in public school in Ottowa, Kansas. Great stuff!

Glad you liked it. It's always good to find interesting, original music. Much of Christmas music is about reinterpretation of the classics, so it's refreshing to hear something new.

ReplyDeleteI like this one a lot! The songs are pretty good with a touch on cringe... the way I like em!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the music!
Cheers!
Yeah, I thought it was pretty good.
Deletea touch of cringe is always a good thing when it comes to solo singer-songwriters. Thanks for something new and different!
