Around The Clock Saturday-Part 1
Well, it's Saturday once again, and once again I'm going to try to post 'round the clock for you. Some of these are going to be single song posts though, because I'm running out of double-sided Christmas singles. Hopefully it's not too much trouble for you to download these. First up is a winter-themed song by Adam Wade called Cold Cold Winter (Coed 7" 45 RPM CO 560, Mono, 1961).
Ernie, you are incredible! You have been an unbelievably bright spot in what's turned out to be a very difficult Christmas season. I can't thank you enough and I am in awe of you!
ReplyDeleteJust keep your eyes on the prize, you'll be hosting after-Christmas sales before you know it. :)
DeleteI think you're just staying up late because you want to finally be awake when Santa arrives....or that you want us folks out here to be, in turns, delighted, amused and in some cases, utterly bewildered with the sounds of Christmas. May your eyelids not wear out....and thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt's not easy, but someone's got to do it. :) Thanks for the note!
DeleteThis is a much better song than the same one by Anita Bryant that you posted last weekend. Nice Jazzy sound that doesn't often shows up in some of his releases. The arrangement does seem to be a nod to Doris Day's "Everybody Loves A Lover", right down to Adam's duet vocals with himself! It is kind of appropriate that you posted this record from him this year, being that he passed away from complications from Parkinson's disease at 87 years of age. Great cut from this Johnny Mathis soundalike singer that I did not know about until today. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYou just never know what you're gonna get until you put a needle into the groove. Thanks for the review!
