Have A Beer On Me
Didn't I just do a Night Before Christmas record yesterday? Well, I guess that makes it a theme, because here's another one for you tonight. This time it's a special promo item from a brewery in Baltimore, and it's a bit of a mystery. The label on the B side has fallen off, so I don't know exactly what's on there. From a listen, I'm going to call it Christmastime, but I'm not sure of the artist, or any of the other credits. Some of you sleuths can probably dig up some more details on this release, so if you you find out more, please clue us in. This is Bailey Goss-The Night Before Christmas b/w Unknown Artist-Christmastime (The National Brewing Co 7" 45 RPM 107219, Mono).
The Night Before Christmas at the brewery, eh? Sounds like an idea!

ReplyDeleteWelcome!
DeleteIn the 50s the NFL had the Baltimore Colts. They won the championship on December 28th 1958. Bailey Goss was the Colts announcer. Although I couldn't find out about the flipside, I found this reference to the week before the championship game:
ReplyDelete"Coltsmania even trickled down to the preschool set. On Dec.22, TV's Romper Room aired a holiday special, "The Littlest Angel," narrated by Colts announcer Bailey Goss."
You can add this to your pro-football related shares this year!

Now that's some mighty fine research right there! Thanks for sharing. Doubt if I'll be able to track down that Romper Room episode though, but you never know with YouTube these days...
