Organ Donor, Part 4
More magic, more organ here for you now. No boring story about this one I'm afraid. This is The Magic Organ-The Musical Magic Of Christmas (Ranwood R2001, Stereo). There's some overlap between this record and that last one, I'm afraid. By my count five of the songs are repeated. Sorry about that.
1. Jingle Bells
2. Joy To The World
3. Here Comes Santa Claus
4. Silent Night
5. Frosty The Snow Man
6. Winter Wonderland
7. It Came Upon A Midnight Clear
8. Oh Holy Night
9. Christmas Waltz
10. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
1. Jingle Bells
2. Joy To The World
3. Here Comes Santa Claus
4. Silent Night
5. Frosty The Snow Man
6. Winter Wonderland
7. It Came Upon A Midnight Clear
8. Oh Holy Night
9. Christmas Waltz
10. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
Five songs? FIVE SONGS?!?!? How do you live with yourself?
ReplyDeleteWell, they may not be the same versions, just the same songs. Extensive analysis is required before we jump to any conclusions.
DeleteHi Ernie,
ReplyDeleteI guess Lawrence Welk had to make money somehow. Wiki said he was co-ower of Ranwood and most releases were from his stable of artists. Were they popular lable artists? They were before my time, as I have only read their names on the internet.
That Wikipedia article explains it pretty well. The Ranwood artists were either Welk associates from the show, or people he thought fit that same niche. I don't think the artist here was from the show, but it surely could be.
DeleteBoth Jerry Burke and Bob Ralston played piano and organ, on the Lawrence Welk show. It could one or both of them playing, on these albums?
DeleteI believe the clue is that Papa Joe's Production credit on the label. That leads us back to Jerry Smith, an organist in Nashville.
