Just Christine
While we're in a gospel mode, here's an album by just plain Christine. Actually, she has a last name, but you'd have to look carefully at the credits to find it (Or just look at the label, I see it's there in big letters. I remember having to hunt through the credits for it, I must not have been paying much attention). I guess she wanted to be more like Madonna or Cher, or maybe it's just hard to pronounce. This is Christine-Christine's Christmas (Milk & Honey/Singspiration MH1019, Stereo, 1979). And for the search engines, it's Christine Wyrtzen.

This was the label that released the first albums of now-legendary Christian singers Michael Card and Twila Paris, plus they also had on it's label roster Michael James Murphy, who re-emerged in the mid-'90's as Christian Country singer Michael James on Reunion Records. This must have been one of the labels first releases. Looks like David T. Clydesdale and Bob Farrell had a hand in some of the songwriting credits here.
ReplyDeleteI wish labels would start with number 00001, but that would be too easy. I guess they want to seem older than they are, like how check books start at #1001.
DeleteShe may also be related to Wyrtzen that composed a lot Christmas Musicals for "Singing Christmas Trees" and also played piano?
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing that's her husband. He's got a lot of credits on this album.
