Godfrey, Not Arthur

I was talking with Lee about this old share, and I thought I'd put it up here while I was thinking about it.  Problem is, I can't find where I ever shared it out.  I shared out something that's billed as by the same artist way back in 2006, but it's got way more tracks on it.  I'm all confused.  Maybe someone else can help to straighten this out.  This is Godfrey Malcolm & Fredrico-Chimes At Christmas Time (Waldorf Music Hall MHK 33-1230, Mono).

1. O Come All Ye Faithful
2. God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen
3. Silent Night
4. Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
5. We Saw Three Ships
6. We Three Kings Of Orient Are
7. Good King Wenceslas
8. The First Noel
9. O Little Town Of Bethlehem
10. Deck The Hall
11. Joy To The World
12. It Came Upon The Midnight Clear
13. Angels We Have Heard On High
14. Oh Christmas Tree

And this is the album that I thought was the same as the one up above.  It may have some of the same tracks, but it certainly has a lot more and appears to be a little more recent, at least to my eyes.  This one got shared out around here way back in 2006, and this is the same old, old recording.  Just for the sake of comparison, please download Godfrey Malcolm & Fredrico-Chimes Of Christmas (Brigade P-1320S, Stereo).

1. Joy To The World
2. Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
3. Silent Night
4. It Came Upon The Midnight Clear
5. Beautiful Savior
6. Good King Wenceslas
7. Shepherds Shake Off Your Drowsy Sleep
8. The First Noel
9. God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen
10. Angels We Have Heard On High
11. O Little Town Of Bethlehem
12. We Saw Three Ships
13. O Come All Ye Faithful
14. Away In A Manger
15. Oh Christmas Tree
16. God Give Ye Merry Christmastide
17. Deck The Halls
18. We Three Kings Of Orient Are

  1. I see the Waldorf all the time, but I have never seen the other.

  2. I definitely have the red cover one in my library. But it doesn't look like your share. It only has the cover (no back or labels) and it's just called "Cover.jpg", which doesn't follow your usual naming scheme. The files are all 98Mbps.

  3. Ernie, those are the 18 tracks I told you about--the ones on the three 18 Top Hits EPs. Same titles. 18 Top Hits was Waldorf, of course.

  4. i too thought i’d try to find out when you posted it. so i looked up all the records of chimes you’ve shared with my nifty little search program. trouble is, the results were longer than bubba’s list of shrimp. and then i thought “say, it might be amusing to…”. so i started out copying them one by one. but i’m a lousy typist. it was more work than funny. anyway, sorry. couldn’t find it.

  5. I was mistaken. Though most of the titles match the ones contained my three 18 Top Hits EPs, the versions are definitely not the same. I imported your tracks to MAGIX, ripped a few of mine, and overlapped the files--completely different recordings. Not surprising, as mine sound pre-stereo era.

My three 45 rpm EPs show up at discogs, only in different editions. Mine are numbered P-6, P-7, and P-8. The ones at Discogs are P-106, P-107, and P-108. I quit.

  6. Hello Ernie,
I am sure you have this information already, but as you did not date the Waldorf Music Hall version I pass this onto you.
