Field Position

Another remaster for you, this time my favorite brass Christmas record. I first discovered this album in 2012, and had planned on giving you a simple re-encode this year.  But then I turned up a new copy and decided to go ahead and re-record it in hopes it might come out sounding a little better with six more years of experience since that first recording.  I think it sounds pretty good, but you'll have to be the judge of that. For your Christmas pleasure, this is Jerry Fielding And His Brass Choir-Favorite Christmas Music (Signature SM 1028, Mono, 1959).

1. Joy To The World/Hark The Herald Angels Sing
2. Winter Wonderland/Jingle Bells
3. The First Noel
4. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen/O Come All Ye Faithful
5. Oh Tannenbaum/Cantique De Noel
6. Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer/Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
7. The Twelve Gifts Of Christmas
8. Auld Lang Syne/White Christmas
9. Silent Night
10. The Christmas Song/Let It Snow/Let It Snow, Let It Snow
11. It Came Upon A Midnight Clear/Oh Little Town Of Bethlehem
12. Deck The Halls/Here We Come A-Caroling

  1. I have this one, mono as well - I wonder if there is a stereo version. I'm not sure I have ever seen a stereo record on the short-lived Signature label.

  2. I don't think so. I seem to remember we poked around after I posted it the first time around and couldn't find anything. Shame, because I bet it would be a stereo showcase! :)

  4. How do you think I feel re-posting things for the umpteenth time? Not sure if anybody ever reads the old posts I link to...
