Viola & Organ

This particular share may be the worst nightmare for many of you, so be careful.  It's a homemade organ recording on 7" vinyl with a picture sleeve.  I'm thinking it may be a vanity project by someone who may or may not be very talented.  I guess it's not too bad as such things go, but it's not very original. It sounded a little more snappy when I first played it at 45 RPM by mistake.  When I realized my error and switched it to 33 RPM, it was a lot less zippy.  Anyhow, you should still download Viola Klaiss At The Hammond Organ-A Merry Christmas By Viola Klaiss (Century Custom Records 7" 33 RPM 22649 "A VeRay Production", Mono).  The sound is iffy on this one.  Not quite sure what's going on in spots.  It may just be a poor recording or a bad pressing, but it's pretty intermittent.

1. White Christmas
2. Silver Bells
3. I Saw Momma Kissing Santa Claus
4. Silent Night, Holy Night
5. We Wish You A Merry Christmas
6. March Of The Toys
7. Winter Wonderland
8. Medley: Santa Claus Lane; Rudolph, The Red Nosed Reindeer; Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
9. Jingle Bells

  1. You're right, I can't imagine listening to this, but I have to admit it's unusual and I like the cover!

    1. That cover, Oy vey...
Reminds me of when I was about 3-4 years of age. My mother got this idea from a friend to start making Christmas decorations with Styrofoam. What fun I had.
We also made Christmas Ornaments using empty clear plastic pill bottles.
What fun my friends and my mother and friends had. My father looked at us like we were nuts.
Mind you, only a few saw the light of day on one of our three Christmas trees.
My father had this bright idea that we should put everything into a massive Christmas display in our front yard.
He later told me, he was hoping someone would come by and steal the lot. They never did. They had their own special box to be stored in. Funny, that box disappeared within a few years.
Maybe, it is resting in place with that silver Christmas Tree that only lasted one year in our house, about 25 years before I was born. We still had the color wheel though.

  3. Good thing I'm not in charge of the PA system at Wal-Mart or a mall! I would so play this over it, just to see what kind of reaction the shoppers would give! LOL

Viola is famous, or so her Wiki page says so. Maybe, she did not have a Wiki page back in 2018?
    Anyway, bring on more Viola...
I would love to have seen her all girls orchestra. Maybe something like the one in the movie "Some Like It Hot"? Did they look like Marilyn, or did they look like Tony and Jack? Hubba, hubba.
Tony looked good in drag. Jack looked like those guys that are drunk at a party.

    1. Huh, didn't know she was an actual star at one point. This would have had to be really late in her career.

  6. Well it was made in Florida where she retired I suspect.

    1. Everyone retires here. That's how I get so many records. :)
