Look, Up In The Sky
The best reason I have for posting this record, other than it's great selection of Christmas songs, is that if you look real close on the cover, up in the top right hand corner, just above the Decca label, you can see an airplane flying by. I was real close to airbrushing it out when I was cleaning the cover up until I realized it was actually a shape and not just a blob. Think of the odds... Anyhow, here's a nice collection of men at a seminary singing. Good stuff. This is Saint John's Seminary Choir-Right Reverend Russell H. Davis, Mus. M., Director And Soloist-The Heavens Declare-Christmas Hymns And Carols (Decca DL 4353 (Brighton, Massachusetts), Mono, 1962).

Awesome! Thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteThe label says that this was "Actually recorded at St. John's Seminary Chapel" as if to assure us it wasn't taken down at the local Dew Drop Inn.
ReplyDeleteairplane. surely, you can't be serious.
ReplyDeletei used to stare at clouds and saw faces.
probably an angel, if anything.
It could be an airplane shaped angel, I suppose. But don't call me Shirley!
