Amen, Brother

This is another record I found at the Largo bookstore I think I've mentioned before. I really need to get up there again, but they just have so many dollar records it takes forever to go through them and I hate making my wife wait while I dive through the crates. Maybe someday soon I can find time to make the journey alone. Anyhow, it's a neat little record that seems to have been released as a fundraiser for a diabetes research foundation, a cause that I can certainly get on board with (I've been type 1 diabetic for almost thirty years now. It's no fun). It's a bunch of piano medleys of Christmas tunes sorted by their country of origin. I enjoyed it and I'm sure you will, too. Give a listen to Brother Harold Lootens-Carol Nocturnes For A Peaceful Evening At Home (Sentry Custom Recording KM 2763, Stereo).

3. Slavic: Rocking Song; Shepherds Come A-Running; Polish Lullaby

  1. I see he was a Marianist brother (S.M. = Society of Mary). I attended a Marianist school myself and was influenced by the good brothers.

    1. Thank you for clearing that up, I had no idea what the S.M. meant. Lots of these brothers (and later today nuns) show up with letters after their names that are a mystery to me. Hope you enjoy this record, should you choose to download it. :)

  2. Well Ernie, I liked this one a lot. It kept me on my toes, not dancing though. Pity the album from Father Martin was such a disappointment to me.
    Now bring on the Sisters...
