Adam, Not Drew

You want some more Christmas Chorale? I thought you might after that list one. This is The Adam Carey Chorale-Christmas Chorales (Colortone C 33-4942, Mono). Nice cover here, and nice singing, but it's a little hard to get past the budget-label smell. This thing has probably been repackaged and resold a few times, though I was unable to ID any specific instances of it. And it's pretty likely there is no such person as Adam Carey, though I'm too lazy to do any research at the moment. If you know anything more about this release, please don't be shy, share what you know in the comments, I'd love to hear from you!

1. Joy To The World
2. The First Noel
3. Deck The Halls
4. Away In A Manger
5. God Give Ye Merry Christmastime
6. Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
7. Silent Night
8. Oh Holy Night
9. O Come All Ye Faithful
10. White Christmas
11. O Little Town Of Bethlehem
12. Jingle Bells

  1. Hi Ernie,
    Colortone
    Profile:
    US label.
    Parent Label:
    Waldorf Music Hall
So we know, they use different names on different releases.
I quickly scanned the web, nothing. I quickly scanned BSN under Waldorf and could not find a similar match.
However, they list several albums I have MP3s of, with a different artists name and on Colortone.
The question is, I thought Colortone was sold in Canada, but they also have have some with the Waldorf Music Hall label.
And the guy, "Puddin' Head" Smith, Aliases:
    Keyboard Kingston, Knuckles O'Toole.
I forget his real name, Dick Hyman was one, as was Billy Rowland.

Like many recordings made by Somerset and Alshire have various names for the same tracks, though mostly 101 Strings. That is another can of worms as my father used to say when I was a kid.

    1. Yeah, I'd like to find out if this was released elsewhere under a different name, but I couldn't find anything. I'm sure it's out there, either from before or after, they never left a recording in the can without reissuing it a dozen times.

    1. I'm suspecting that has something to do with the time difference between here and there, but I could be wrong. For a large chunk of the world, this was published tomorrow, if you know what I mean. :)

      Glad you like it.

  4. Yes, I think you said this company is from New Zealand? Maybe they are 21 hours away from me. I know Australia is near that time by plane, lay over and plane, so that makes sense :-)
