James A. Garfield

I think I mentioned that I visited Lakeview Cemetery in Cleveland, and their Garfield Monument last year. Well, I meant to share some more pictures then, but all I ever showed you were the actual coffins in the base of the monument housing the remains of Garfield and his wife. These shots highlight the statue of the 20th president that occupies the center of the round building. I shot from all around, including down onto his head and up to his shadow near the domed ceiling. I have to say that I was more impressed by this spot than I thought I would be. And I was doubly impressed when I discovered I could venture out onto the roof!
