The Return Of The King

A very popular share last year was a mono copy of the record you see above. As quite often happens, I stumbled across a stereo copy not long after I shared the mono version, but it was too late to get it out during the last Christmas season. But here it is this year in two channel form. I think it does sound better, but maybe that's because both ears are able to enjoy themselves, instead of just the one. OK, so I'm not a professional comedian, or even much of an amateur. But I do like to share Christmas music. Please download The Pete King Chorale And Orchestra-Christmas Time (Kapp KS-3214, Stereo, 1960).

1. My Favorite Things
2. Silver Bells
3. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen-It Came Upon The Midnight Clear-Joy To The World
4. The Christmas Song (Featuring Beth Adlam)
5. Sleigh Ride
6. Adeste Fideles-Silent Night
7. The Night Before Christmas
8. The Little Drummer Boy
9. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas (Featuring Beth Adlam)
10. Mary's Little Boy Child
11. The First Noel-Away In A Manger-Oh, Holy Night
12. White Christmas

  1. Ernie, thanks for the stereo repost. I believe someone mentioned last year that Thurl Ravenscroft sings with this group on this album. I'm big fan of his work for Disney's Haunted Mansion attraction and his best known work on the Grinch TV special. By the way, I've been meaning to tell you that I've been playing some of the albums you've shared as background music for my synchronized Christmas light yard display. A different album is featured each night. If anyone asks about the music I tell them to look up Ernie Not Bert on the internet. Once again, thanks for all you do! It's brings Christmas joy to many!

  2. Hi Ernie,

I just wanted to thank you for posting this album. My family and I listened to it constantly in the 1960s and 1970s, and I have the original, badly scratched LP. I got it transferred from vinyl to CD last week and planned to give copies to my parents and siblings this Christmas, but it was so scratchy that it was downright irritating to listen to. Your version is an absolute Godsend. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! You don't know what this means to me!!!
