A Sacrifice
Here's a weird one for you. I didn't even realize this was a Christmas record on first glance. But once I took a longer look, I realized what I had. It's not every day you find a rock opera about the birth of Jesus, but here you go. There are a few guest singers on the album, biggest name that stood out to me was Bonnie Bramlett, known for her work with Eric Clapton back in the day. This is of course much later than that, but it's still a very interesting listen. This is Adrian Snell-The Virgin-A Dramatic Rock Opera (Pilgrim America R3822, Stereo, 1982). Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteWelcome back!
DeleteA weird but rather interesting one. As a Christian Brit, I recognise several of the names on the album, including Paul Field (a well known song writer in Christian circles on both sides of the pond) and Joe English (who played drums in Wings and toured with bands like Petra).
ReplyDeleteAnd if you want some new Christmas rock (well metal), then this year's Xmas album by Stryper (who are still going strong) is great stuff!
I have the old Stryper Christmas 12" somewhere...
