Sword Play
One last post, and then another Christmas is in the books. Don't worry, the sharity will continue for a while, but the big day will have come and gone. Seems like the season gets shorter every year, which is probably why it also seems to start every year back before Halloween. I don't suppose that's either here or there, you just want one last share before bedtime. OK, here is The Sword Of The Lord-The Wonder Of Christmas 1983 (AMR Record & Tape Corporation SLC 83, Stereo, 1983). Enjoy! Fancy gatefold on this one, scans are in the share.

Well Ernie,
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe that I am this first to comment on this album. It certainly is only passible, as the music seems to come from one of all-in-one Synthesizers. Maybe, the two vocal tracks scared listens away. Either that, or they were to partied out due to Christmas. I doubt it.
Of, thank goodness that was only one true vocal, and a part vocal on this album. There was not a Tenor ot a Mezzo Soprano in the group. As they tried to sing a higher note, their voices were struggling.
This album seems to have a country tinge to it.
Without these two songs, I would consider this album as an okay one to listen too.
I think I am being a bit harsh on some of these albums this year?
There are still a few more posts out there with no comments, but you've crossed this one off the list. Lots of artists used those cheesy synthesizers back in the day, especially if they wanted to avoid having (or paying for) a band. Sorry it wasn't the best album. I just remember taking it out of the shrink wrap and being surprised it was a gatefold LP.
DeleteMany years ago, one of my first Christmas CDs i bought was: Christmas With The Three Degrees. I played it to death. Synthesizer laden. Not sure what year I bought it, even though it says 1999, I am sure it was a few years later. It was a cheap promo CD. After, I started collecting a few more, I grew to not like it anymore. Why, those synthesizers made it so fake to listen too. All the songs had this same sound to it.
DeleteBut, these types are songs and sounds still have their place, especially in playlists. You need variety.
There were a few shares I did not bother to download. This happens every year.
DeleteWho knows, maybe I will come across another no comment one.
Oh, I took a peek at the Kids Stuff albums. I think I might enjoy them when I finally listen to them.
Well, you did like some of the cartoon albums, so there's no telling. :)
