A Mozelle Christmas

Another record I just thought about tonight, one that could easily fit into my Christmas around the world series, this is a nice record I shared in 2010 because of the great cover.  If you're not familiar with Mozelle Thompson, you should be.  He provided artwork for almost 100 albums back in the late fifties to the late sixties, and they're all done in a very recognizable style.  While not as eclectic or prolific as someone like Jim Flora, he still has his followers, including me. I was pretty excited to find this, and surprised to find an original English recording of the same music that featured a different cover (down at the bottom).  Glad they changed the art for us Americans.  Give it a listen, but the cover is the best part here.  This is An English Country Church Choir With Organ-Christmas In England-Carol Service In A Country Church (RCA Victor LPM-1568, 1957, Mono).

1. Bells: Organ
2. O Come, All Ye Faithful
3. As With Gladness Men Of Old
4. Once In Royal David's City
5. The Holly And The Ivy
6. Joy To The World
7. The First Noel
8. Good King Wenceslas
9. Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
10. Angels From The Realms Of Glory
11. Away In A Manger
12. While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night
13. Coventry Carol
14. I Saw Three Ships
15. Silent Night (Stille Nacht)
16. Organ

  2. Hi Ernie, I know it is past Christmas, but listening to this album is like listening to the BBC broadcasts each year. You cannot do better than listening to a UK Choir at this time of year.
    Beautiful album.
