Military Madness 2

From that last Army share, let's head over to the US Air Force and see what they have to offer. If I were ever to enlist in a branch of the armed services, I think it would be the Air Force. Anyone who has ever been to a military airshow will know what I mean when I say it's impressive. I'm sure the other branches have their toys (and yes, I know both the Marines and the Navy also have planes), but man, those jets are impressive. A military career was not in the cards for me though, and I'm too old now to worry about it. I remember a time in college as I sat on the floor doing homework and watching the US invade Kuwait, I sure was glad that I'd blown off all those recruiters who called me after I took the ASVAB,  All of that is just preamble to the share I have here for you. It's another nice record from the musical folks in our nation's military. This is The United States Air Force Symphony Orchestra-Deck The Halls (Department Of The Air Force BOL-8808R, Stereo, 1988). Huh, this record was issued the same year as I would have entered the military after graduating high school. Strange coincidence.

  1. Ernie, this was a bit** to try as I might, to locate on your blog. Probably because I was thrilled to be listening to it. It was a 10. Just music, wonderfully played.
A real winner and worth more than just one listen. I am re-listening to it as I type this. That is something, as I said, I rarely listen to Christmas music at home. Not even internet Christmas music this year either.
Maybe, since this was 1988, could be that they were near ending their album releases, so go out with a great one?

    2. I typed in usaf - this album did not show up.
I tried US Air Force, the complete title, usaf deck the halls, The United States Air Force Symphony Orchestra, verious other versions. Finally I am not sure what I typed, it finally appeared.

The same happened with the collection with Barbara Britton, nothing. But, I was able after a few tries to locate it.

      Just gremlins I guess.

    3. I gotcha. There's no sch thing as fuzzy search here at Blogger, it's got to be exact. I was trying to find something the other day that I knew I had posted and it wouldn't come up. Turned out one of the characters in the group name had an accent mark on one letter and the search wouldn't return it. Los Diplomaticos... :(
