Robot Roll Call
Before I head out on my cross-country adventure tomorrow and Wednesday, I wanted to chime in here and ask for a little visitor participation. As in past years, I'd like to know where you're visiting from. I'm getting tons and tons of hits from China and Singapore, but no one ever leaves any comments from those places. Maybe it's just the indexing spiders doing their thing, but the numbers aren't quite that high. So if you don't mind, just leave me a quick comment about where you're visiting from. In the past, I've made note of all the different states and countries on a map, then posted it later, but I don't have time to do anything like that this year. It's just me being curious. Playing along won't cost you anything, and you don't have to leave your name if you don't want, an anonymous comment will be just fine. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteI am here in Berlin, Germany. However, my VPN is located in various places. So, it is never constant. My VPN has been in China and Singapore though.
Oh, just an update. I have no idea how the average VPN works, but when my computer turns off, then back on, it changes the VPN. Of course, you can change the VPN if you want when you want to. I happened to have a free VPN through one of my email provider's.

DeleteColorado Springs CO here, where it got up to 67 F outside today. We got 6" of snow two weeks ago, but will we see it Thursday next week? Sadly, not likely.

ReplyDeleteWish I was there to go record shopping! I did that once and I brought home a ton of good records. Then I got sick as a dog and barely made it onto the plane. My sisters-in-law are sending pictures of the snow in Central Park. Good luck with that!

You are doing wonderful work and it's greatly appreciated. It really adds a sense of history and nostalgia to the season. I love that you are doing FLAC now (lossless). If you ever get a chance, a description of your recording equipment, software, and workflow would be great to know more about. Sound quality is really good this year.

Some of the software changed a bit this year because of the FLAC files, but the hardware is still pretty much the same. I don't know why my stuff sounds the way it does, I don't feel I do anything special.

DeletePresent! from Ecloses-Badinières, France, for my yearly dose of covers ( and discovers... ) of some numbers i came to enjoy many to my surprise, thanks to you.
ReplyDeleteFun fact : we're one of the few (maybe the only?) village of France without a demonym since the fusion of the two villages Ecloses (Eclosiens) and Badinières (Badinièrois) 10 years ago.
This winter they asked the inhabitants and school children to come up with something and should announce the result in January.
I might come back next year with a completely newfound sense of self.
In these confusing times it's good to rely on some constants for identity like the christmas season with Ernie ;)
