Robot Roll Call
Before I head out on my cross-country adventure tomorrow and Wednesday, I wanted to chime in here and ask for a little visitor participation. As in past years, I'd like to know where you're visiting from. I'm getting tons and tons of hits from China and Singapore, but no one ever leaves any comments from those places. Maybe it's just the indexing spiders doing their thing, but the numbers aren't quite that high. So if you don't mind, just leave me a quick comment about where you're visiting from. In the past, I've made note of all the different states and countries on a map, then posted it later, but I don't have time to do anything like that this year. It's just me being curious. Playing along won't cost you anything, and you don't have to leave your name if you don't want, an anonymous comment will be just fine. Thanks!
Hi Ernie. I'm "way up north" in Virginia. Thanks for all of the hard work again this year. My hard drive runneth ovber.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by for yet another year!
DeleteHi Ernie,
ReplyDeleteI am here in Berlin, Germany. However, my VPN is located in various places. So, it is never constant. My VPN has been in China and Singapore though.
Oh, just an update. I have no idea how the average VPN works, but when my computer turns off, then back on, it changes the VPN. Of course, you can change the VPN if you want when you want to. I happened to have a free VPN through one of my email provider's.
DeleteI'll put you down for Germany, I don't pay too much attention to what the VPN might say. :)
DeleteBrooklyn!
ReplyDeleteAh Brooklyn. Had shwarma last time I was in Brooklyn. Or maybe it was tacos...
DeleteI'm in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.
ReplyDeleteAs someone famous once said, I Love LA!
DeleteGreetings from Western Australia
ReplyDeleteWell, you're the early leader for being the farthest away! I need to find some Australian Christmas music for you. Joe Dolce isn't enough!
DeleteZaragoza (Spain) and Athens (Greece)... It's complicated!
ReplyDeleteSpain and Greece? You gotta pick one or the other!
DeletePalm Springs, CA where it's 88 degrees today but still enjoying the Xmas cheer! Thanks Ernie.
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain, it was over 80 here yesterday, but today it's down in the 50s. Thanks for the note!
DeleteHey Ernie, San Antonio, TX checking in! P.S. I've spent the past few weeks of the holiday season listening to the entirety of your 2020 "Great 78" bonanza. Per my flac player, 37+ hours of over 800 songs. You've been at this for 20 years and I am truly grateful!! All best, Michael
ReplyDeleteAh, the great state of Texas. I'll be doing a flyover in a couple days, keep an eye on the skies. 2020 was a great season!
DeleteHackettstown, NJ. As I've mentioned before, my wife is from Singapore, but I haven't been back there lately.
ReplyDeleteThanks for leaving a note. I think I shared an album out from Singapore a couple years ago...

ReplyDeleteMaryland! Close to DC? Eastern shore? Those would be my two fave areas up there. Thanks for stopping and leaving a comment!
DeleteFrom cold and snowy Concord, Ohio, northeast of Cleveland, Ohio. As always, you make this time of year so very enjoyable. Thank you for all your hard work.
ReplyDeleteAnother one NE of Cleveland. That lake effect snow must be hammering y'all.
Delete#1 Wintersauce fan here from Cincinnati and occasionally the other side of the river!
ReplyDeleteAh, Wintersauce. Thanks once again for all your comments!
DeleteThanks again for all of your shares! Seriously one of the highlights of a very stressful time of year.
DeleteOrlando, Florida here!
ReplyDeleteI lived over off Sand Lake one summer and worked at Universal when they opened. Those were the days.
DeleteColorado Springs CO here, where it got up to 67 F outside today. We got 6" of snow two weeks ago, but will we see it Thursday next week? Sadly, not likely.
ReplyDeleteI guarantee you'll get more snow than we will here in Florida. Still hoping to see some in Santa Fe, but none in the forecast just yet. We may have to drive up into the mountains. Thanks for all your support!
DeleteI remain in New Jersey!
ReplyDeleteKeep an eye out for that devil in the woods! Thanks for the note!
DeleteNYC
ReplyDeleteWish I was there to go record shopping! I did that once and I brought home a ton of good records. Then I got sick as a dog and barely made it onto the plane. My sisters-in-law are sending pictures of the snow in Central Park. Good luck with that!
DeleteGood Evening & A Happy Christmas Ernie, Checking in from A Ski Resort in Vermont having some Swiss Fondu & Wine. The snow is on the ground. Ernie your doing Great... Sincerely, Stan
ReplyDeleteOooh, Vermont, I don't think we've had a check-in from there yet. I also can't remember sharing any Christmas music from Vermont, I'll have to work on that. Thanks for the note, glad we can be part of your Christmas!
DeleteGreetings from the currently frozen hinterlands of Indiana! Ignore whatever my IP says - 5G wireless uses dynamic IP assignments, so I can show up as from anywhere in the continental US.
ReplyDeleteThank you again for sharing your collection with us! Happy Holidays!
Back home again in Indiana! We have a consultant at work that hails from Indiana, maybe he'll chime in here as well. Thanks for the note!
DeletePhilly area- loving your shares since 2007- Thanks for the yearly Christmas tradition!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your continued support. I have in-laws in Philly we're supposed to go visit one day. Any good record stores there? :)
DeleteThere's a few around these parts! If ever visiting in-laws, try Molly's Books & Records on South Street
DeleteGreetings from Stow Massachusetts (greater Boston area)! I've been coming here every December for many years but never commented before. You are doing wonderful work and it's greatly appreciated. It really adds a sense of history and nostalgia to the season. I love that you are doing FLAC now (lossless). If you ever get a chance, a description of your recording equipment, software, and workflow would be great to know more about. Sound quality is really good this year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the note. I think I detailed my process somewhere around here, lemme see if I can find the link. Some of the software changed a bit this year because of the FLAC files, but the hardware is still pretty much the same. I don't know why my stuff sounds the way it does, I don't feel I do anything special.

Ironically, I've read this before. I didn't realize until I started reading. Anyway... thank you a million times! Merry Christmas!
DeleteChecking in from Valley Forge, PA. Christmas twice a year from you is fabulous. Greatly appreciate all the hard work (though it's not work if you love what you're doing)!
ReplyDeleteHello again from Wellington in Shropshire (UK). It is mild and damp - and it gets dark before 4.30pm, but your Christmas offerings brighten the gloom. Best wishes to everyone across the big pond. The orange moron won't be around forever.
ReplyDeleteHowdy Ernie. Listening here in Hardinsburg, KY. Keep up the good work and have a safe trip, love and praying for y'all.
