Back On The Mountain
Here's another remastered skiing LP for you. This one is pretty far removed from the last, though I first shared it out at about the same time in 2006. The theme this time is still skiing, but the music is more country rock, certainly rooted firmly in the early seventies instead of the early sixties. But you'll still enjoy it, especially in the new rip at a higher bitrate. Please download and enjoy Six Family Mountain-Takin' A Ride With The Wind (NSP (National Ski Patrol) NSP-1001, Stereo, 1971).
1. Takin' A Ride With The Wind
2. Snowbird
3. A Reason For Winter
4. Wrong Mountain Blues
5. Let It Shine
6. A Nice Place To Live
7. Chumley's Bus
8. Nobody In The Canyon
9. Country Mountain Shakedown
10. Vanishing Skyline
Hi Ernie, well another interesting album to listen to. I saved it for a long bus journey...trains are on strike as I write this...Always, nice to find an album of many original songs for the Holiday Season? I am guessing this was recorded to help generate donations or the like. I am doubtful about this bringing in too much money though?
ReplyDeleteWell worth a listen, or two :-).
Yes, this was a fundraiser for the Ski Patrol. I'm sure it sold well to the skiing folks as I've seen a few copies out in the wild, but I doubt it ever broke through to a wider audience.
Deleteupdate, really worth listening to. highly recommended, except track 4, seems out of place.
ReplyDeletei am surprised there were no comments. possible few downloads? a pity.
I'd shared this out a few times before, so it's not new and exciting. Plus it's after Christmas and not a Christmas record, so few people see it and fewer people care. But that's OK, 'cause it's here for those who find it. :)
