Greasy Kid Stuff 2

Up next from the fine folks at Kid Stuff is this version of The Nutcracker. I'm sure the big draw here was the public domain nature of the material, which means they could record it without paying royalties to anyone. That's always a big consideration for these cheapo releases. Anything they could do for cheap or even free, that's the goal. Sell a few records, make some money, go home for the day. I suppose it was a creed that served them well, but they certainly didn't last too long doing it. But during their time, they put out quite a few records. This one is The Kid Stuff Repertory Company-The Story Of...The Nutcracker (Kid Stuff Records KS 112, Stereo, 1978). Interesting period cover on this one, not sure what the girl is crying about though. I guess because her nutcracker is broken, or because the mouse king is dead. Who knows...
