The Best From July 2022

I have been somewhat remiss in sharing these best-of collections from my Christmas in July celebrations. The last best-of I gave you was from way back in 2021, so it's time to catch that up just a little bit with this look back at the best music from July of 2022. Looking down the tracklist for this one, I can tell this was the year I managed to get a lot of production music albums that were designed for radio station use. Those are usually short tracks that would get played behind seasonal ads or to help fill out the hour to prevent dead air. Because they're so short I was able to squeeze a lot of them into the list so it looks like a lot of music. If you like what you hear here, you can always dive into the archives and download all the shares from July of 2022, I believe they're all still there for the taking. I'm too lazy to link them all, but you should be able to find them with a minimum of searching. The artwork is a detail from a painting I saw a while back in the St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts (the one in Florida, not Russia). Looks like I didn't take a picture of the whole painting, or of the label next to it, so I can't tell you who or what this is. I'll have to head up there soon and get the missing info. Looks like I took the picture a couple years ago, so I'm probably due for another visit.

  1. That's quite a good collection, and a really lovely piece of art!

    1. I suppose most folks prefer the best-of collection to the actual full experience. It skips over a lot of the dross. But it leaves out a lot of good stuff as well, an issue I try to correct with the occasional second-best collection. :)

  2. Lots of great stuff in the second-best shares, looking forward to the next one of those.

    1. Someday, but not this year. Those take forever because I have to weed out all the things that were in the best-of's and the repeats. Oh, and now I'd have to take out all the stuff that was in the previous second-bests. :) I'm too particular about some things being right.
