Nutcracker In July 20
Whoops, I almost forgot about today's Nutcracker in July episode. Had to zip it up real quick this morning and upload it, now I'm posting at work real quick. Let's see who I put in the folder. The artist is The French National Symphony Orchestra Conducted By Roger Désormière, and the album is Nutcracker Suite/Suite From The Swan Lake-Tchaikovsky (Capitol P-8140, Mono, 1954). Pretty sure I've shared this one out in previous years, piecemealing it out one track at a time over multiple days. Now you've got it all in one nice little package. Enjoy!
Yay! These folks actually exist - or did, anyway!
ReplyDeleteAssuming you believe French people are real... ;)
ReplyDeleteErnie, have you ever run across the New York City Ballet orchestra recording of the complete NUTCRACKER on Kapp? That LP and Antal Dorati-Minneapolis Symphony were my two NUTCRACKER recordings growing up in the early 1960s.
ReplyDeleteIt's not ringing any bells, I'm afraid. And it sounds like it wouldn't be something I could share here. I'm just doing versions that don't quite fill up the album, so there'd have to be something else on the LP as filler. Just a silly rule I'm playing by. The Antal Dorati I think is something I have somewhere... :)
