Noel, Noel

From the archives of 2008, this LP by the appropriately named Noel Stevens is one of those anonymous Christmas records that I'm afraid I have absolutely no memory of.  I think I may have shared this out once more in the following year, but nothing after that.  So after ten years, I figure it's time I bring it back for those who might be curious.  I love to exhume these things from the dust bins of history, but sometimes there's nothing I can do.  They're there for a reason, after all.  Please enjoy Noel Stevens Woodwind Quintette With Harpsichord-The Noel Sound (Fuller FR-0021, Stereo, 1967).

1. Good King Wenceslas
2. O Little Town Of Bethlehem
3. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
4. Deck The Hall
5. What Child Is This?
6. The Twelve Days Of Christmas
7. Joy To The World
8. The First Nowell
9. Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
10. Jesus' Lullaby
11. I Saw Three Ships
12. Silent Night

  1. Don't remember this one at all. (At my age, I am grateful to remember my kids' names.) Looks interesting!

  2. Harpsichord music somehow became popular back in the '60s, to the point that it made me hate any harpsichord music so I have to pass on this one. Thanks anyway!

  3. i must have missed this the first time round. i’m not even sure i was here in 2008. more places to visit back then. i was more choosey in former times. nowadays, i’ll download anything: nuns, organs, music boxes, lions, tigers… i do however draw the line at little marcy and her imitators. noel stevens & friends is good stuff. 1960s. 1860s. 1760s. fits.
