The Last Saturday-Part 26
Continuing on the marathon posting tonight, next up is Holly And The Ivy's, a non-existent band created by Nick Laird-Clowes (of The Dream Academy fame) and enlisting some guitar help from Pink Floyd's own David Gilmour. I don't hear a lot of influence from either group in there, it's kinda just a pastiche of what Stars On 45 were doing at the time and taking to the top of the charts. But it's a big name, so I'm digging it out of the dustbin of history. Here is Christmas On 45 b/w Have Mercy On The Child (No Label (Decca)/Rock Music Co. 7" 45 RPM SANTA 1, Stereo, 1981).
right until the bitter end, that's Ernie. Thanks for one hell of a long season. Merry one to you both.
ReplyDeleteTrying to keep it going right up until Epiphany, though I'm slowing way down after Christmas :)
