Frosty, No Snowman

Christmas is the season of Giving, and every year sees the release of dozens if not hundreds of charity records, each offering a little something special for your donation and causing no ends of headaches for Christmas music collectors like me.  This record from 1967 is no exception.  I shared this with you back in 2010 and was surprised by a number of people who posted that it was part of their annual Christmas listening back in their childhood. I guess you just never know.  Anyhow, please add it to your annual Christmas celebration by downloading The Gregory Orchestra And Chorus-David Frost Introduces A Christmas Record For Oxfam (Flamingo (Philips) SPL.155, 1967, Stereo). You do remember who David Frost is, right?

1. David Frost-Oxfam Introduction
2. I Saw Three Ships
3. Good King Wenceslas
4. Silent Night, Holy Night
5. While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night
6. Once In Royal David's City
7. Away In A Manger
8. The Holly And The Ivy
9. We Three Kings Of Orient Are
10. Here We Come A-Wassailing
11. God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen
12. The First Noel
13.  O Come, All Ye Faithful

  2. I heard what I believe to be excerpts from this on several 30 hour Christmas music radio broadcast marathons throughout the 1980s, but have never seen a copy (physical or digital) until I just literally stumbled upon your blog five minutes ago. Alas, the link seems to be dead. Any possibility of a re-up? Thanks.

  3. Much appreciated. Just listened to a couple of the tracks and it is the versions I remember from those old broadcasts. Once again, thanks so much.
