Super Saturday Salvation 8

Looks like the Salvation army was getting a bit of a jump on the Bicentennial in 1975 with this album. I was convinced this was the 1976 entry until I actually looked at the printing on the record. I guess it was a long celebration that couple of years. I was just a kid, but I remember going to see the Freedom Train as it spent a day in our small town. Oh, and the special quarters (and half dollars and silver dollars, too) that came out that year. They made so many of them that they skipped production in 1975 just to make more 1976 versions. The special guest star this year was Michael Learned, star of The Waltons. I have to admit that I didn't know who she was (or even that she was a she...), I had to look it up. This is not the only star of The Waltons that we're going to see today, by the way. For a trip down memory lane, please download Happy Birthday, America! (Army Of Stars, The Salvation Army Western Territory Public Relations Department USR 8144, Quad, 1975).
