07-Christmas In The World
Today is a very special share filled with Christmas songs about all sorts of different places, with a special section of songs for Japan. There are songs here celebrating Christmas in a wide variety of places from US cities such as Miami, Chicago, Poughkeepsie, Santa Fe, Washington DC and San Francisco, US states such as Texas, Connecticut, Georgia and Hawaii, as well as countries such as Vietnam, Mexico, France, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Christmas Island (which is technically an Australian territory, so there's that) & Ireland. Plenty of generic locations feature here, too, like Heaven, a gingerbread house, a valley and another non-gingerbread house. Oh, and that special batch for Japan features the only song that's actually from another country. Paul Anka released a single called Christmas In Japan for the Japanese market exclusively (with only extremely limited distribution in the US). He's backed by a number of Japanese musicians on the single, I think you'll really enjoy it. I've added a McGuire Sisters track about Christmas in Japan as well as a Harry Stewart song done as his Japanese character Harry Kari. It may seem a little racist today, but there are worse things out there, trust me. This is one of my favorite collections so don't miss out, download today!

ReplyDeleteThank you! Listening through a daily batch of 45 largely unknown Christmas songs is really exciting and fun. To me this was the most enjoyable share of yours so far this season. I shared my 13th Christmas-compilation on Thanksgiving (which may appear as the 27th in the USA, because of different timezones:). This year I think maybe about 40-45% of the material originates from your blog + the cover art. Here's the link (for anyone interested):
