Christmas With Wally

Behind this horrible scan of a very shiny cover lies a great lost Christmas record.  It's a gold foil thing that looks great in person but my scanner couldn't make heads or tails of it.  But you're after the music, not the picture, right?  And this is pretty good music.  You can read all about it in my original post from 2010, and there are some very informative comments as well, so don't miss those.  But before you can give it a listen, you have to download Wally Stott, His Orchestra And Chorus-Happy Holiday-Christmas In Stereo (Warner Bros WS 1341, Stereo, 1959).

1. Happy Holiday
2. Wassail Song
3. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
4. Christmas Sleigh Bells
5. Shepherd's Chorus
6. The Holly And The Ivy
7. The Christmas Waltz
8. Away In A Manger
9. Good King Wenceslas
10. Snowfall
11. Silent Night! Holy Night!
12. White Christmas

  3. Thank you again for these gems and I enjoyed your 2010 posting and comments with added information about Wally Stott.

I wonder what results could be achieved by photographing the cover in manipulated lighting?

Your description fills in the blanks though and I can imagine how this well loved cover looks.

  4. Some of these tracks were used on the Christmas From the Red Barn album. I don't think any of the tracks are credited on that one to the performers and I just love that one. When I heard the first track on this all I could think was oh jeez hot damn a whole album of this sweet YES!

Thanks for the preservation and share.

  7. Thanks for the share Ernie. I'm Brit and Wally Stott is most famous over here for being the musical director on The Goon Show, radio comedy in the 50s and writing the theme for 'Hancock's Half Hour'. He/she had a pretty varied career! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angela_Morley
