Be Afraid

Here's something I'm sure you don't want, but I'm giving it to you anyway.  I'm too tired to go on at length about this, but it's one of those things you need to hear to believe.  So just go ahead and download Marcy Tigner-Christmas With Marcy (Corner Stone MT 113-LP, Mono, 1965).

  2. You should have just posted the synopsis on the back:

"It's almost as though Marcy has collected all the joyfulness she had in her heart all year long and used it all at once in this special Christmas album. You can almost see her eyes twinkle, and her smile with a dimple, in every work and every song. It's catching--listen and be happy with Marcy."

If that's not super creepy, I don't know what is!! :)

  3. Okay, first of all, someone needs to stop feeding this child sugar. Secondly, I'm pretty sure the cities mentioned are NOT pronounced "Beth-lee-hem and Is-ray-ellllllll." Wow! It's just like listening to fingernails on a chalk board. I love it! It is a great way to drive guests out when they have outstayed their welcome! Thanks for this unusual and bizarre offering!

  4. I'm almost afraid to leave this in my computer. It might seep over into other files!

  10. Wow. That was just as you described it! I had to cleanse myself by listening to organ & chime LPs!

  11. These comments are hilarious! Thanks for re-posting Marcy, truly one of the more demented things to ever be committed to wax. It's equally bizarre that many ventriloquists made record albums.

Ernie, I sent you an email back on the 2nd...did you get it? I need your address to send you the Capote lp...

  13. Although I do download Little Marcy LPs as curios, the best part is reading all the comments left by others -- and today is no exception.

And, yes, it's amazing how many religious ventriloquists there were (quite a few with LPs) -- Even Tammy Faye Bakker had a puppet TV show where she did all the voices.

  15. Oh, my, I just checked out that article that RobC linked. Those album covers are something! That doll is like the Cliff Robertson ventriloquist doll from "Twilight Zone", after the doll takes over! GAAAAA!!!!
