Oh, The Confusion

Let me see if I can get this straight.  I'm sharing with you now, as I did back in 2006, the record above and the record below.  And it turns out that the record below was originally the record at the bottom.  Now, they may look the same, but they are not.  The stereo version was recorded in 1958, and the mono in 1956.  The stereo version features a chorus, the mono version is strictly instrumental.  Why bother with two different recordings instead of just combining the left and right channels to make a mono version?  I don't know.  I guess since the mono was there already, they decided to keep it.  And to my ears, I like the mono one more.  So if you got all that, you can download either Domenico Savino And His Orchestra-Hi-Fi Christmas Party (RCA Camden CAL-392, 1958, Mono) (which is really a reissue of Domenico Savino And The Rome Festival Orchestra-Christmas Party (RCA Camden CAL-333, Mono, 1956)) and Domenico Savino, His Orchestra And Chorus-Hi-Fi Christmas Party (RCA Camden CAS-392, 1958, Stereo).
