Baby's Fiftieth Christmas

First, let me ask you this. With that cover, how could you possibly pass this record up? You know you want it, you need it, you have to have it. I don't know much about the guy named Fontanna who made this record, but I've seen quite a few of his records out there, the cover of one I shared with you a long, long time ago. Since then, I've picked up quite a few of his releases. This record is quite nice, and there are some songs here that you never hear. So please judge this book by it's cover and download Fontanna, His Orchestra And Chorus-Christmas At Home (Masterseal MS-81, Mono, 1958).

1. Silent Night
2. Joy To The World
3. Let It Snow
4. Snow Flakes
5. Hark The Herald Angels Sing
6. You Are All I Want For Xmas
7. Adeste Fidelis (sic)
8. White Christmas
9. Winter Wonderland
10. I'll Be Home For Xmas
11. One Little Candle
12. Silver Bells
13. Night Before Xmas
14. We Three Kings Of Orient Are

  1. Hmm, wonder if that's the same baby the guy on the other record was expecting. (And this would be the baby's fifty-first. Sorry, mate. :-)

    WV: nolsewnw; They're getting better.

  2. I've shared a few from this collection over the past few years--"Snowflakes" is my favorite. I discovered that Guy Lombardo recorded the same song, so maybe Fontanna was covering Guy.

I think Masterseal was in the same family of cheapo labels as Palace, but I'm not sure. Every time I go by memory on something like this, I err.

I wonder if any of these labels imagined they'd become collectible over time? They probably gave no thought to that issue at all....

  3. Calling "Jingle Bells" as "Silver Bells" doesn't make it "Silver Bells" ...

Be advised ... that tune is Jingle Bells

Thanx for all your efforts, Lee!!

I wish I looked that good at fifty.
