45-Wintertime

Two days in and 2021 seems OK so far.  I'm going to keep monitoring it though, and see how it goes. In the meantime, I've got another collection of songs for you. I started by grabbing all the songs that featured the word Wintertime in the title, then just Winter, but that didn't give me a very large collection at this late date, so I expanded the theme a little to include all sorts of things that might occur in the winter time. A ski song, plenty of snow songs, some skating, frost, a sleigh ride, you get the idea. It's a pretty eclectic mix of things, but I'm sure it's a wonderful collection of music. As you've heard me say 45 times already this season, all of these wonderful 78 transfers have been taken from the collection at The Internet Archive. And if you think I'm sharing a lot, you should see the vast amount of stuff I haven't touched. It's not all Christmas/winter related, so it seems to go on forever as you sift through it. Anyhow, only a small sampling today of what they have to offer, but a good collection I'm sure you'll enjoy.

  1. Was there actually a radio show starring singing birds? Things were different then.

  6. Thanks for stopping to leave a note!

Buster-Yes, I actually own another of their records that a bit more Christmassy, but no less birdy. :)

David-Thanks! But it's all stuff you can download yourself with a bit of effort. I'm just trying to draw some attention to it.

Raven-Me too! I had no idea she had other Christmas singles, but I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. She had an entire Christmas album out later on, but she was well past her prime. I enjoyed all of her Christmas/New Year's stuff I was able to dig up this year.

Mama-Glad you enjoyed it. Hard to keep up the pace sometimes, but comments like yours (and all the others, or course) make it an easier job. :)

    Thanks all!
