Re-Bob

Speaking of Ruth Lyons and the talent she surrounded herself with, here's an album from her eventual replacement on television, Bob Braun. I've shared this album with you for a few years now, but I rerecorded it this year so it sound better than ever!  There's at least one song on here that you heard on the single I shared with you a few minutes ago, so you can compare and contrast if you'd like.  There are plenty of songs on here written by Ruth, as a matter of fact, so until you get the chance to listen to either of her full albums, this will have to do.  Please enjoy Bob Braun-Orchestra Conducted By Leroy Holmes-Christmas In Your Heart (United Artists UAS 6664, Stereo, 1968).

1. Christmas In Your Heart
2. Everywhere The Bells Are Ringing
3. Do You Hear What I Hear
4. A Marshmellow (sic) World
5. A Child's First Christmas
6. Let's Light The Christmas Tree
7. Christmas Lullaby
8. Winter Wonderland
9. That's What Christmas Means To Me
10. I'll Be Home For Christmas
11. Christmas Medley

  2. I grew up watching and listening to Bob because our local NBC affiliate picked up his show. I think he also made occasional visits here to do promos and special appearances. My grandmother and great grandmother were almost as crazy for Bob as they were Tom Jones and Don Ho.

Thanks for re-upping, I must have missed this in past years....

  3. Thanks for this share. My grandmother and her sister took me to a taping of Bob's over in Cincinnati when I was really little in the 70s. I'm always surprised when I hear his name come up because his show was regional, but most people my age (40) have never heard of him. He even came up last month on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson! Jay Leno was the guest and he mentioned doing live commercials on Bob's show.

    Great as always, Ernie!
