Merry Christmas...And Thanks!

I just wanted to make a special post to thank all of the people who stopped by and enjoyed the blog this season!  Thank you to everyone who left a comment and told me the story about the first time they heard such-and-such a record, or they how they were able to hear music that they hadn't heard in 40 or 50 years.  Thank you also to everyone who sent me a personal email.  Sorry I couldn't reply to all of them, and sorry I couldn't repost whatever you were looking for, some things just need to stay gone.  I hope you all had a great time.

PS-No thanks to this guy for reposting lots of my stuff, even stuff I just shared out this year, mostly with no credit whatsoever.  Most of the other stuff he's posting that I didn't share came from many of my friends in the community and their sites.  That's not cool, man, not cool at all.

  1. Ernie, BIG thanks and a Merry Christmas to you. I ran across your blog a few years ago, and have had it bookmarked ever since. On that occasion I'd Googled the Ray Charles Singers in hope of proving to myself I wasn't losing my marbles when I recalled a Christmas LP my dad had by that group from when I was a kid, that had NOTHING to do with the Ray Charles everyone knows about. Not only was I able to confirm it, but there it was, available for download!

Having digitized some of my LPs a few years back, I know the time and effort that goes into what you do. The number of shares you've offered is truly astounding!

Anyhow, thanks again, and all the best.

  2. Ernie, you're ACES! Best wishes and be well in 2013.

In a world gone mad, you're an oasis. You've lifted my sagging Christmas spirits for 25 days.

When I count my Blessings, I count you twice!

  7. Ernie,
Thank you for sharing all this music.

Though it seems no one commented on it, my favorite of all is "Uncle Mistletoe" - it's very cool.

A Merry Christmas to you and yours!

  10. Ernie,

Thanks again for doing what you do. It's one of the best parts of my holiday season. My family now expects to here the "latest" in vintage music everyday during the holidays.

Hope you found time to enjoy your holiday, and I'll seriously see what I can do about making a dent in your wish list.

    All the best,
    DC

  18. Ernie, thank YOU for the hard work and incredible generosity that you share. My children are Christmas music connoisseurs now, largely in part because of your gifts. Christmas wouldn't be the same without "Peppy, the Peppermint Bear," "Christmas at K-Mart," "I Fell out of a Christmas Tree,” and many others that have become Christmas favorites. In a world that has gone sideways in so many ways, it is nice to know that there are good people like you that have an abundance of goodwill. We in this home hope you had a very Merry Christmas, and here’s hoping your New Year is bright and fantastic!

  22. Thanks for all those fine records!

As for the grief with fixitinthemix, I can't find the offending material - did he nest your stuff into those compilations?

  23. No, he removed it. It was all there Christmas night, and gone by the next morning. He had posted roughly three Christmas albums a day from Dec 1 to Dec 25, with various Christmas mixes. By the morning of the 26th, all those posts had been deleted.
