Six Suns

They said it couldn't be done! But here it is, the other Christmas recording from The Three Suns! This completes the set, assuming you were able to get A Ding Dong Dandy Christmas elsewhere. I think there are only 18 minutes of music here, but it's so worth it to have the complete set. So please download The Three Suns Present Your Christmas Favorites (RCA Victor WP 250). Just for the record, this is a set of three 45 RPM, 7" singles in a box. I also found a Brazilian copy of the third record in the original generic Discos RCA Victor sleeve. I think it's the same music, though...

  1. It can't be done! No, wait, you already did it. Thanks, Ernie!

  2. Ernie,

You're almost there, but one Three Suns Christmas record eludes you: the b-side of a 1951 single called "Uncle Mistletoe" which I have never heard and would never have yearned to hear--except now in the name of completeness. Please post it or get someone to post it for you so I can go on to the next discographical obsession.

  3. Curses! Why do you mock me so! I thought I was done visiting the expensive record store. What's the flipside and/or catalog number of this elusive release?

In the words of Susan Powter, "Stop The Insanity!"

  4. Looks like there is a 1950 single with Sleigh Ride as the B side, and a 1951 single with Sleigh Ride on one side and Uncle Mistletoe on the other. A completists work is never done.

  5. Ernie,

Alas, a completist's job is never completed. Its joys and rewards are Sisyphean in nature (as in Sisyphus, the Greek rebel sentenced for eternity to roll a rock to the top of a hill only to have it roll down the other side). If it is any consolation, I admire your perserverance. Guys like you and Lee have made this one of the most enjoyable Christmas countdowns of my life. However, you've spoiled me so rotten that I'm going to suffer some serious post-partem blues when Christmas is over. I sure hope you have some great New Years' albums to share with the world. Otherwise there is nothing to stop countdown from becoming meltdown.
