Danger! Do Not Download!!

I have this terrible fear that you folks are going to download whatever I throw up here. So here is a test. Do not download this album! It is bad! The arrangements are terrible. The singing is monotone clap-trap, and it's often pitched so high that dogs run howlng from the room! If you thought the Chipmunks were bad, these crickets make the Chipmunks look like Elvis being backed by the Beatles. But I'm afraid there is no stopping you. This is Christmas With The Happy Crickets (International Award Series AKX-9) or it's (Grand Prix Series KX-9). The music is the same, but the covers are different. I recorded one side of each, since I couldn't get a good dub from both sides of either record. Side one is from the green record, and it sounds muddy with lots of surface noise. Side two is from the yellow copy, and it sounds good, but side one had terrible pops all through the record. And if you look close at the green cover, in the upper right, it says "Wanda Haynes 12/14/67". That's my aunt, and I assume the date she got the record. Don't know if it was new then, but at least we know it's that old. Remember, Don't download or listen to this! It's Bad!

  4. Stop downloading this! It's garbage! 26 of you have grabbed it, and I bet there are 26 people lying on the floor with bleeding ears somehwere out there on the internet.

I'd share the Squirrels if I had 'em, but I don't. I've got Woody The Woodchuck, though. Maybe I can get him up sometime.

  5. I am going to hurt myself if I keep reading this! You guys are too much. At least I know now to put down my coffee before reading the comments.

Oh--and thank you Ernie for all the great stuff!!

  6. I actually have a couple of these Happy Crickets albums sitting in a box of dross auction wins that haven't been listened to yet. (You know, you rush home to audition the 3 or 4 weirdo albums in the boxlot that made you bid in the first place, and then you have all those other albums that just pile up)

Based on your advice, I will avoid melting my needle with the crickets.

  7. Nope, didn't know about that. Prety scary. Glad I don't have that smell-o-vision module on my PC.

  8. I know if I download this and burn a CD of it for my children, they will make me play it endlessly (as they do the Chipmunks Christmas album). Thank you for the advice, Ernie.

  9. I shudder to think what would happen if you played this for your kids. I can't imagine they'd like it, though, because it has no soul. It's so monotone. The Chipmunks at least have personalities. There is another L of non-Christmas tunes I have, too. Which now that I think about it, features The Chipmunk Song. I'll have to listen and see if it's the same version. I may have to post a bonus track for you not to download. :)

  10. It's like a bad car wreck....I just can't turn away from it. I don't feel so bad though...I'm the 49th person to download it.

So, how's it go? Once I listen to it I have 24 hours to get someone else to listen to it or something bad will happen?

  11. The worst (best?) I´ve heard for a long, long time.
Especially Silent Night. The contrast between sacred music and these maniacs..

  12. I have to laugh at some of the humorious comments, but I will give a reason for d/l this album.

Only to place it in the collection of christmas music.

With a hazardous warning label on it: "Dangerous to listen to"

    Thanks for the share.
