41-I Fell Out Of A Christmas Tree

How about a big batch of songs about Christmas trees? That's what I've got for you today, and I think it's almost the whole 45 tracks this time. Well, almost, but not quite. I'll have to hunt for a few more appropriately titled singles between now and next season. Songs about Christmas trees aren't too hard to find, as such things go, but it's hard to find ones you don't already have. I didn't want to give you ten versions of Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree. 1. Much better sound quality than YouTube on the Dora Hall selection; your copy looks like a reissue that came out in the late-'70's. Sounds like she had too much eggnog when she recorded it.

    1. She issued a lot of here stuff again and again and again on a handful of bespoke labels. Someone someday will untangle it all and make a great documentary on Netflix. It's gonna take a while though...

  2. I remember the Four Aces selection that I found online on YouTube a few years ago. I think it was from the post Al Alberts-era of the group.

    1. Could be, I don't know their history very well. Discogs says he left in '58, same year this song came out, so likely he's not on it. Discogs also says, and I quote, "The group was intronized to the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001." Not familiar with that word...

  3. Good job on remastering the Rosemary Clooney selection. My 45 copy is a little scratchy and not quite as good as the one you posted here.

    1. Kiddy records get beat to death, you just have to get lucky and find a less beat one. :)

  4. musicman - Those kiddie records took a beating. I had this one as a kid and believe me, it sounded like it was raining nails on a tin roof when I got done with it.

Ernie - I never would have thought there were so many Christmas tree records.
