2022 At 78 RPM-Part 41

Not the most exciting week around here, I'm afraid. I grabbed a few multi-record sets that I've been holding onto for a while, stuff that I didn't want to share out side-by-side, mostly spoken word. Not to say there's nothing interesting here, because I think it's all interesting, but your opinion may differ. I didn't have quite enough of those things, though, so there are a few actual songs thrown in here and there to round out the share. If you see something interesting in the scans, download the share and give it a listen. Or maybe you should download it just to make sure you have the complete set of shares. I'd hate for you to miss a week and later regret it. I'll be back next week with more, but enjoy these for now.

For the curious, the garbage disposal is working like a dream. It's really loud, but I can't complain too much. I complained a lot when I was carrying the old disposal down to the garbage and I got it upside down in the box so that it leaked all over my clothes and the carpet. That was some nasty water in there.

  1. Those Fred Waring’s on Decca non-breakables remind me of one we had when I was a kid of his adaptation of The Nutcracker Suite. It would fit in with this series. Hope to see it here at some point. If they already have, a friendly dope slap will be appreciated.

Glad to hear the new disposal’s working ok. I always prefer looking back on a successful installation. You never know what will go wrong when it’s coming up.

  2. I have that Waring Nutcracker somewhere in my collection, but I don't think I've seen it show up yet at the archive. It's possible they're avoiding it as they're mission is to archive the more pop selections over the classical, but that's just a guess. I see plenty of Nutcracker versions there, but not as many as you might suspect. Maybe I should donate mine...

    Thanks for the comment! :)
