2022 At 78 RPM-Part 13

I'm sure I say this every week, but once again, I can't believe how far into the year I've gotten with this little project. Today marks 25% of the year, which means it's three months past Christmas and only nine months to next Christmas. Time flies when you're having fun. So in honor of this little milestone, I'm sharing a giant batch of 25 songs with you today. Lots of interesting stuff from 78 RPM shellac records ripped and archived by The Internet Archive as part of their Great 78 project. I don't think I duplicated any songs this time, though I did inadvertently include both sides of a Will Glahe record. I need to do better quality control on these shares. I hope you enjoy the hour plus of music here today, and if you haven't been playing along, go back to the old posts and grab the twelve earlier pieces of the set. 2022 At 78 RPM-Part 12

Time to make this an even dozen shares! And because of that, I'm going to share out a dozen tracks instead of the usual ten. Well, both because it's the twelfth share and the fact that I netted over 120 tracks from this months' 78 dump at Internet Archive! Certainly not all of those were new to the archive, but the new records frequently lead me down rabbit holes to find stuff I've missed in the past, so that probably contributed a little under half the total. I even managed to track down a few Chanukah shares which are really hard to find! But none of those in the pile today, just some great sides with some great looking labels, and for some strange reason, two versions of White Christmas. By the time I noticed that, it was too late to spend the time and energy to change it, so that's the way it is. Hope you're all enjoying the shares!

No home improvements to report on lately, though I'm happy to report the old fridge is still running like a well-oiled machine, even with it's ugly barn door hinges. The new fridge money is sitting in the bank happily earning half a percent interest every year.

2022 At 78 RPM-Part 11

For the second week of March, I gathered together a large selection of spoken word pieces and whatnot, all spread out over multiple sides of their respective pieces of shellac. If you're not interested in that sort of thing and you only want songs, this might be a good post for you to skip. But I hope you don't because there's some charming stuff here, going back a little over 100 years! Sharp-eyed visitors will also notice that I've now got the second record that was missing when I shared a couple of these sides back in 2020. I didn't even realize at the time that I only had sides one and two of a four-sided collection. Anyhow, give these a listen and let me know if there's anything you like.
