A Little Hubris

Been holding back this LP for a long time now because I wasn't happy with the images I had of the inside of the gatefold, but I'll go ahead and share it with you now because I'm tired of worrying about it. The reason I had to photograph it instead of scanning it was because it's a rare pop-up gatefold Christmas LP! We've seen a few of these before, but I can't think of any off the top that I've been able to share because they're usually collections of the same old songs performed by the same old artists you can download at any legit streaming service, but this one is a little different. It's all in Spanish and this particular copy was made for the Peruvian market. Not every day you come across a (second) record from Peru, but leave it to me to find something. I think there's a little something disturbing about the imagery inside the popup though, but you tell me what you think. The band has decided to add themselves into a nice little tableau of the Nativity. Not sure I would have approved of that design decision, but here we are. What do you think, is that appropriate? Either way, this is Parchis-Villancicos (Discos America (Peru) ELD-02.10.1028, Stereo, 1980). Enjoy!
