A Cartoon Christmas 12

High noon on a Saturday morning, that's usually when the cartoons switch over to afternoon horror movies or Wide World Of Sports. Not here though. Around here, it's all Christmas all the time, and today it's all cartoons. Time now for everyone's favorite Belgian import. No, not Tintin, it's The Smurfs, and they're singing their usual happy little songs. I'm asking myself why there wasn't a record-collecting Smurf. There probably was, but he was way in the back of the group shots, hoping the picture would be over soon and he could go visit the nearby thrift store before they closed. Oh well. This is The Smurfs-Merry Christmas With The Smurfs (Starland Music S-1033, Stereo, 1983).

1. Smurfing Bells
2. Winter Wonderland
3. Santa Claus Is On His Way
4. Let Us Sing Together

7. Christmas Presents
8. Little Drummerboy

  1. So true about the record-collecting Smurf. And speaking of them, I am beginning to look like Grandpa Smurf. My skin isn't quite that blue yet, though.

    1. If you're turning blue, try breathing.

    2. Isn't there a family deep in the woods of Kentucky with and odd genetic mutation that leaves their skin blue? I read about them somewhere.

    3. With me, it's because my skin is so thin the veins show through. I'm like transparent. I could be one of these anatomical dolls showing off how the veins and arteries work.

  2. Ernie I forgot to comment on this one too. It was a fun album, passible, but I remember trying to slow it down to make them sound more normal, no luck.
It sounds too Chipmunkie to me.
And they had a TV show I see on these characters. But then again, they had those Chipmunks on TV too.
Who were their target audience, under 6 year olds? Yes, they are the shoppers in the family.

    1. I dunno, they're from Belgium which is a lot closer to you than to me. :) Go ask 'em what's up with these little blue guys.
