CiJ 2025-Day 23

Day the twenty-third! It's all downhill from here, though I hope not literally. I've been trying to save some goodies in the download folder here until the end so the quality doesn't diminish as the month wears on. You'll have to be the judge of that though. Today's featured track is by the irrepressible Doris Day from the soundtrack of one of her films in which she doesn't dress up like a mermaid. Or at least I don't think she does, I haven't seen it. Pretty sure I've shared this track out before, but it was from a set of 78s. This time it's from the 10" release of the same music. Might not sound any better though as the record was pretty beat. It was from a large stack of Doris Day 10" records I found at a Habitat For Humanity store recently, but this was the only one I grabbed. I've really cut down on my record buying since running out of room and having to put much of my collection in storage. One of these days that storage bill is going to bankrupt me and I'm going to throw the whole collection away, but not today. Enjoy the music!

  1. The Hi-Lo's and Doris Day. A great, tasteful selection of X-mas in July songs. Thanks Ernie.

  2. Hey, I have that Doris Day LP; I think mine is probably beat, too. Also the Hi-Lo's. Two excellent choices!

    1. Not only do you have the Doris Day, you shared a promo record related to it! https://big10inchrecord.blogspot.com/2014/05/doris-day-plugs-on-moonlight-bay.html

    2. I thoroughly agree. I really need to check my local Habitat Restore to see if they sell records. I would have bought this one for sure. Keep the vinyls you know you to want to have in your collection and give away the rest; I regularly send bags of albums to my local Goodwill every few weeks or so. It helps to keep my collection from totally getting out of hand.

    3. I need to do a lot of culling. Costing too much money to keep all this stuff in storage year after year. But it's hard to let go.
