Behold, The Comment Spam!

I checked my email this morning to find that the comment spammers had got me last night. 20 comments spread across 16 posts. I'm still in the process of deleting all these, so be careful what names and links you click on down in the comments. I suppose this is the cost of a free blog, and I haven't been hit in a while, so I can't complain too much. Just seems like people would have better things to do with their days.

  1. The scary thing is that they would bother unless the spamming actually worked.

Which means that there's a whole world of suckers out there falling for the spam scams.

  2. It's a backhanded compliment of sorts I guess ... would they bother with a blog that wasn't successful and popular? Oh and btw, pls visit my new site www.spam_n_id_theft_r_us.com for some valuable coupons for a free Big Mac, Rolex watch, cheap Canadian drugs, hot women in your area, herbal male enhancement pills, and, as an added bonus, $100,000 from a friend in Nigeria. But please hurry, quantities are limited.

  3. Oh, geez, they've found a way around word verification? We're doomed.

  4. I recommend initiating the comment moderation facility.

  5. A scary thought: Maybe these are BETTER things they're doing with their time. We don't know what they were previously doing.

Actually, it looks like you were visited by one very busy Spammer--usually, these guys hit a single post and then move on to their next project. I've been getting a steady trickle of these pests, and I was going to ask if anyone else has been getting more Spam. I guess I don't have to ask.

On the bright side, it's so much fun to delete them. I find, anyway. Hang in there.
