Raise A Glass To Christmas

I had forgotten about this record until a song from it happened to play at random a couple days ago, so I went and finished it up real quick and I'm throwing it up tonight for you. I can remember watching an episode of either Real People or That's Incredible as a child, and they had somebody come on and play the glasses. It was a large selection of glasses, each with a different amount of water in it. They'd wet their fingers and slowly stroke the rim of the glass until it would resonate and make a high-pitched noise. They were able to do it fast enough to make a song out of the noise. You adjusted the pitch by changing the level of water in the glass. I remember Mom & Dad pulling some fancy glasses out of the cupboard so we could try it ourselves. It wasn't a pretty sound like the guy on TV, but we made some noise. Anyhow, this album features music from someone who really knows how to make those glasses sing. Please download Paul Meisser-Weihnachts Echo (Paul's Singende Gläser) (No Label (Switzerland) DIV.LP 85016/1, Stereo).

  1. i feel like there was another album of someone playing glasses, maybe with a lenticular cover? Can’t remember the name at the moment.

    1. Dunno about that one, but there was one called A Toast To Christmas In The 80s. Can't think of the artist name.

    4. Yea, that's her. I'm sure there's at least one more, but I don't know about anything Christmas with a lenticular cover.
